FableForge

Visual novels, without the six-month asset problem

Writing a branching story is the fun part. Drawing four hundred backgrounds is not. FableForge drafts the outline, generates the art you actually ask for, and hands you a Ren'Py project you own at the end.

No account needed to make a character and look around.

Playable now

The Village

A town of people with their own schedules, their own opinions, and a memory of what you did last time. Haggle at the market, take work off the bounty board, chase a rumour until it turns into something. It is also the clearest example of what this engine does when nobody is holding it still.

Roll a name and a face, answer three questions about where you grew up, and go. Sign in on the way through — your character comes with you.

The Village: cottages and a market square at dusk

Making one

Three steps, and you can stop after any of them with something you can use elsewhere.

01

Describe it once

Genre, tone, a setting, whoever is in it. You get a beat-by-beat outline back, not a finished thing you have to argue with. Rewrite any beat, cut the ones you hate, reorder the rest.

02

Generate only the art you want

Nothing renders until you ask for it, and every generation shows its cost before it runs. Pick the image model per shot, stack LoRAs for a house style, and lock a character's look so it survives across scenes.

03

Take it with you

Export a real Ren'Py project — script, assets, the lot — and keep working in Ren'Py if you'd rather. Existing Ren'Py games import the same way, so this doesn't have to be where your story started.

Start with whichever is easier

Playing something is easier than making something, so start there if you like. The Village takes about a minute to get into and asks for an account only once you have a character worth keeping.
